Fade 2 Grey: Androgyny in Eighties Popular Music

Our own Adrian Loving has been hard at work on a solo gallery show of video art about androgyny, gender roles, fashion, and the sensationalism of style in 80s pop music.

Six video installations explore the aesthetic tensions created by and inherent in the visual identity of iconic musicians from the era including Patti Smith, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Sylvester, Boy George, and Prince. The viewer is challenged to make their own opinions about sexuality and artistry as it relates to these legendary musical figures and to confront Western society’s rigid constructs and viewpoints about gender.

Adrian Loving's Spring Lazer Boogie Mega Mix

DJ Adrian Loving drops the third installment in the Axel F mix series, just in time for spring and perfect for your roller skates.

Ladies: your shorts should be short, your socks should be high and your halter top tight for this one.

Dudes: considering the time period we're talking about, y'all could probably get away with the same outfit.
